Cityscape

Can you see the light
Blinking into the night?
Its not some distant beacon
Nor some furtive signal

Radio tower looms into the night
Its silhouette illuminated by its light
Sending out a high intensity beacon
Letting all know its loveless signal

Car drives down a water-slicked highway
Its body reflecting light a hundred feet away
Rain beats fast across the shining shell
As one man, one woman, one child listen

Hurtling steel takes man away
Down the similar self-reflecting pavement highway
The great gears turn, but the driver does not listen
His vehicle is his solid, physical shell

The great clouds above release their treasures
And fill with light, noise, pavement, steel
But Man remains
Can you see the cityscape?
